The 23-year-old's father David Lamb has been an educator for more than 35 years, while his sister Gabrielle Lamb is about to start her sixth year teaching at Dapto Public School.

And growing up with two "highly educated parents", Mr Lamb was always going to follow the family tradition.

"I have always had a thirst for learning and acquiring knowledge and have always wanted to become a teacher from an early age," Mr Lamb said.

"I believe I have strong personal morals and ethics which align with and influence my desire to be a purposeful educator.

"My father is a career educator, and has been a central role-model in my decision to become an educator.

"His commitment to excellence, work-life balance and ability to maintain relationships is the educator I aspire to be."

Mr Lamb's father started his teaching career in Campbelltown and was a principal at Cringila, Berkeley South and Coniston public schools. He is currently Director, Educational Leadership in Griffith.

"Like my father I have a commitment to education and see myself as a lifelong learner," Mr Lamb said.

"I see myself as a facilitator of rich teaching and learning experiences and opportunities for students, guiding students down the right path whilst supporting self-discovery,

"My aim is to foster effective, independent learners who have an intrinsic motivation to achieve and be life long learners."
