Police are hunting a man and a woman who allegedly attacked another man with an axe outside a Warilla petrol station on Tuesday afternoon.

Police have been told the man was struck in the head with the butt of an axe following a verbal dispute inside the service station on the intersection of Shellharbour Road and Peterborough Avenue.
Shortly after 12pm, officers from Lake lllawarra Police District attended and established a crime scene.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man, aged in his 40s, who suffered head and facial injuries during the attack.
Police believe a woman was also involved in the fight.
The man and woman allegedly fled the scene.
They have not been seen since.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a slim build, about 170 centimetres tall.
He was wearing a bandage on his head and a hospital band around his wrist at the time of the incident.
Police have not released a description of the woman.
A nearby car wash worker, who witnessed the assault, told the Mercury a woman was getting a coffee inside the petrol station when the man she was with got out of a car.
She said an altercation then occurred between the two men where one was injured with the axe, taken from the car, and was repeatedly kicked.
The injured man was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
Police do not believe there is a threat to the general public.
A vehicle was seized for forensic examination.
Police inquires are continuing and officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
