Following the green light at board level, Corrimal club members also endorsed the merger, with the final process being a decision by Warilla's 19,000 members in late February.
If Warilla members agree for the club to amalgamate with Corrimal BC, Warilla Bowls will commit to invest $1.5 million into Corrimal's club operations, plus cover the existing debt. Both clubs will remain autonomous in their bowls operations and compete in the Southern Conference grade one competition, and other pennant grades, plus hold their own club championships.
If final approval for the amalgamation is given as expected, then Warilla will commit to a six-year guarantee for Corrimal Bowling Club to continue operations - a move would deliver much-needed security to the struggling club.
