Bernadette Alfaro from Australia's Premier Collectables Show, said with the popularity of toys and collectables exploding once again, the time was right to return home.
"Illawarra is the fastest growing collectable sector in Australia," Alfaro said.
"We are based in the Illawarra area and never had local customers until 2016 and now have too many to count. It's been a long time coming."
Illawarra sellers who are based in Woonona, Fairy Meadow, Dapto, Albion Park and Kiama, will have their private collections up for sale at the Illawarra Toy and Hobby Fair.
Other sellers who run shop fronts and online stores will also be on hand selling everything from die-cast model vehicles, trading cards, sports collectables, modern and vintage toy lines, anime, comic books and pop culture items.
Shellharbour Airport, one of the show's major sponsors, is also giving away a family pass to the museum as part of the lucky door prize.
Other lucky door prizes include 1:18 scale model cars, trading cards and pop vinyls worth hundreds of dollars.
"Whether you just started or been collecting for 30 years there is something for everyone and this show shouldn't be missed," Alfaro said.
The Illawarra Toy and Hobby Fair will be held at Albion Park's Centenary Hall on Sunday, February 9, from 9am to 3pm.
Admission is $4 for adults or $10 for a family (2 adults, 2 kids).
