Australian pop icons Human Nature are due to perform there on Friday, July 31.
"I heard about that, but I didn't realise that it was WIN Entertainment Centre," group member Phil Burton said of the incident.
"Fingers crossed (that doesn't happen to us).
"It's a really great room and we really like it - it's a unique location, right near the beach."
The group has had some memorable moments in Wollongong - including the appearance of 'Kathy from Dapto' about a decade ago.
"One of our tours, Andrew went to get a girl out of the crowd, and Kathy decided to pick herself," Burton said.
"The problem was, she couldn't really stand on her own as she was so drunk.
"Andrew at one point let her go on-stage for a second, and she tumbled straight backwards, crashed into a mic stand, and broke Toby's microphone. She probably woke up the next day wondering what she had done and why she had such a bad headache.
"I hope she comes to the next show, but just doesn't drink so much."
Human Nature's Good Good Life Tour will celebrate a return to their original music, and also their ARIA Hall Of Fame Induction.
They will perform pop originals, Motown hits, jukebox classics and new original songs, including Nobody Just Like You.
Nobody Just Like You is the lead single from Human Nature's upcoming Good Good Life EP, which features five brand new original songs.
"It's our first chance to have new songs at the forefront of what we're doing for about 15 or 16 years, which is really exciting for us," Burton said.
"All the past tours in the past 15 or 16 years have been essentially based around either jukebox or Motown songs, with our old hits in there as well. But this time the main focus is new material, which we're excited about."
Human Nature also recently reached a milestone 2000 shows as Las Vegas residency headliners, and were awarded an OAM for their service to the performing arts and entertainment field.
Burton said the Vegas residency had given them a stable job, as well as keeping them fresh in the eyes of Australian audiences.
"It's given us the opportunity for us to miss Australia, but also for Australians to miss us," he said.
"So we're not constantly touring Australia and you can see us every couple of weeks. The fact that we're away from Australia for about two-thirds of the year gives people a chance to get excited about it when we come back."
