The Illawarra schools which closed on Monday after the region was lashed with up to 200 millimetres of rain and high winds on the weekend, are set to be operational again on Tuesday.

Six Illawarra public schools, Calderwood Christian School and St Joseph's Catholic high school and primary schools in Albion Park were non-operational on Monday.
And while it was business as usual at the main University of Wollongong campus, UOW's Shoalhaven campus was closed on Monday for safety reasons due to flooding on local access roads.
UOW's South Sydney (Loftus) campus was also closed due to a roof leak causing water damage.
With the rain set to ease on Tuesday, most schools are set to be open for business.
Dapto High School principal Andrew FitzSimons said students and staff were keen to get back to work.
"We've had to close today mainly because of the flooding but there has also been some small damage to some of our buildings," Mr FitzSimons said.
"Mullet Creek has risen and water has come up about 35mm in our agricultural centre.
"Our fitness centre and gym area also has some minor damage.
"I'm fairly confident we will be okay and operating as per normal on Tuesday."
A Department of Education spokesperson said parents and carers are encouraged to visit the department's website and go to its safety page to see which schools are not operating as per normal.
Meantime, a Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong spokesman said at this stage all schools will be operational on Tuesday.
"Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor the Bureau of Meteorology website, as well as local news and radio, for the latest weather updates," he said
"If severe weather conditions impact roads or transport operators' services, updates will be provided on the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong website - www.dow.catholic.edu.au."
