OFF-CONTRACT Dragons star Tyson Frizell is nearing a decision on his long-term future, but his first comments since reports emerged of Newcastle's bid to lure him north will hardly fill the red v faithful with confidence.

The Dragons have tabled a lucrative offer to the Corrimal Cougars junior but could be blown out of the water by a hefty bid from the Knights and new coach Adam O'Brien.
Rumours of interest from the Roosters also aren't going away. Frizell hopes to have it sorted by the start of the season but seemed awake to reality that 2020 could be his last with the Dragons.
"I like to hopefully have an answer for them sooner rather than later," Frizell told NRL.com.
"For the Dragons hopefully I can sort something out soon. I love the club and sometimes things don't work out and you can't always stay at the club you want to be at.
"I haven't made my decision yet on what I want to do but hopefully I can do that soon. I don't want to leave it too long for myself, the fans and the club.
"I love the club dearly and I need to make a decision for my future and hopefully something will be sorted soon."
Frizell's comments came after the Dragons produced an emphatic victory over Cronulla in their opening game of the NRL Nines in Perth, with prop Josh Kerr scoring two tries in the victory.
