The gelding finished eighth in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes on Saturday, the 1400 metre distance well short of his optimal trip.
The race came after a difficult spring campaign for Angel of Truth, the Ross Williams-owned horse withdrawn from the Melbourne Cup after a string of disappointing results.
Trainer Gwenda Markwell was impressed with Saturday's run and plans to slowly build the four-year-old towards the Sydney Cup on April 11.
It will likely next race in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes on February 29.
Markwell was also pleased with Electric Girl's performance at Randwick on Saturday, the filly finishing sixth in the Group 2 Lightning Fingers Stakes in her first race since December.
While the stable had been considering a run towards the 2400m Australian Oaks, it's now likely Electric Girl won't extend beyond the mile this campaign.
