Seven of the locals were the category winners of the Touchdown Helicopters Junior Open series of 2019.
The team had some promising results with Kiama's Will Blomley being the best performed of the boys.
Blolmley placed third in the boys 16 and over scratch and seventh overall in the boys championship with rounds of 73 and 75.
Mollymook's Sienna Clarke was the best performed of the girls, returning rounds of 88 and 82 to finish third in the both the scratch and nett in the girls 12-13 years, and she tied 15th overall in the girls championship.
Others who performed well were Jake Lord (St Georges Basin) who finished in the boys 14-15 years nett, Kiama's Ethan Harvey who finished tied sixth in the boys 16-17 years scratch, Wollongong junior Andrew Brown finished eighth in the boys 14 -15 scratch, clubmate Sam Cascio finished tied 10th in the boys 12-13 scratch and Kiama's Jett Parker was 10th in the boys 12-13 nett.
In the girls, Port Kembla's Selena Bosevski finished tied sixth in the girls 14-15 years nett.
Pennant showdown
The third round of the Illawarra pennant was held at Kiama on Sunday.
The course was in fantastic condition given the amount of rain that has fallen over the last two weeks. Two contests were shutouts, with the remaining match going the distance.
The match between The Grange and Port Kembla saw the Grange go two matches up early when Jason Cavanough defeated Loui Freiss 5/4 and Trent Cadger defeated Isaac Brown by the same margin. Patrick Smith got Port on the board with a 4/3 win over Blake Hollick.
The Grange claimed the win when Dylan Humphries, who was four up after nine, held off Matthew Ward to win one up. Port Kembla's Mark Crossingham defeated Glen Gibson one up to earn Port's second win, with The Grange prevailing 3-2.
Links Shell Cove dominated against The Vale, winning five matches to nil.
Colin Mitchell defeated Steven Townsend 4/3, Thomas Holz defeated Isaac Smith 3/2, Jason Kast defeated Russell Hammond 6/5, Chris McGrath defeated Jarrod Woolmer 3/2 and Grant Meredith defeated Wayne Grief 4/3.
First round winners Shoalhaven Heads were completely outplayed by Wollongong, going down 5-0.
Mark Johnston lost to Lee Grierson 3/2, Josh Francis lost to Bryan Munkman 8/7, Ross Rees lost to Justin Craig 4/3, Wayne Meadth lost to Sean McManimm 4/3 and Lloyd Heron lost to Padraic Skehan 2/1.
