Wiseman Park Robin Humphries and Christine Speer held on to claim a thrilling one shot victory over Warilla's Pam Willetts and Patricia Orgill in the final of the Illawarra District Open Pairs.

Humphries and Speer won 15-14 but had to survive a late fightback from Warilla who trailed 15-9 with two ends remaining before picking up a four and a single shot.
The top two teams produced an excellent final at Bellambi BC with Corrimal, Figtree RSL and Wiseman Park also hosting matches.
Wiseman Park made it a District Pairs double with Carol Owen and Julea Morgan winning the Senior Pairs title.
The Open Pairs featured 24 teams representing seven clubs with Speer and Humphries beginning their run to the title with a 27-16 win over a Dapto Citizens side in round two, then posting an 18-11 win over a Figtree RSL rink before overcoming Carmen Plaza and Margo Brandes (Figtree RSL) 16-5 in the semi-finals.
Willetts and Orgill won four games to make the final including a thrilling 17-16 victory over clubmates Lorraine Alaban and Vicki Smith in the quarter-finals.
In the final, Wiseman Park won six of the first eight ends to lead 12-5 before Warilla stormed back with four straight singles to only trail 12-9.
