Dr Thean Soo Chin, also known as Christopher Chin, was arrested at Balgownie Medical Centre on October 24 last year and charged with four offences after one of the men reported the alleged abuse to police.
Chin fronted Wollongong Local Court the same day and sought bail but was remanded in custody for five weeks until being granted strict conditional bail in the NSW Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, the second man came forward in the interim claiming he too had been assaulted by Chin while a patient at the centre.
Police subsequently charged Chin with four additional sexual assault offences.
Chin, 59, made a brief appearance in court on Wednesday as his lawyer asked for an adjournment so police could serve the outstanding items in the brief of evidence.
Chin did not enter any pleas to the eight charges before the court and the matter was relisted to March 17 for mention. Chin's bail was continued until that date.
Police will allege Chin molested one of the men on four occasions between 2016 and 2017 by touching him on the backside as he walked out a door; touching his inner thigh; placing his (Chin's) genitals into the palm of the man's hands; and grabbing hold of the man's ears and pushing his face into (Chin's) genital area while telling him a dirty joke.
The second alleged victim (but the first in time to make a report to police), claims he allowed Chin to sexually assault him four times between 2017 and 2019 in exchange for Chin renewing his prescription for strong painkillers to which he'd become addicted.
The man allegedly audio recorded his visits, including one in which Chin promised to give him prescriptions for whatever painkiller he wanted if the victim performed fellatio on him.
The man agreed and received the prescriptions, police said.
He later told detectives he left the surgery feeling "degraded and ashamed".
