Bogut raised some eyebrows with his comment in a radio interview as the top-seeded Kings prepare to meet United in their semi-final series.

"We've heard of a few locker-room issues and a few issues with their players... so that's what we like to hear," Bogut told RSN.

Perennial powerhouse United took a long time to gel this season before a late run helped them to scrape into the semis in fourth place.

But Goulding said that was more about lack of familiarity among the squad and turned the heat back on Bogut.

"For us, not so much in regard to guys disliking each other, it's just taken us a long time to figure out how to get the best out of each other, and how to play together," Goulding told RSN.

"That is probably what he's touching on.

"Probably also, he likes to start a little something."

Boomers shooting guard Goulding said it was the Kings who had to deal with friction in recent seasons.

"From all accounts, this year they are much better than they have been in previous years," he said.

"You credit that to just having a group of veteran players that have just put everything aside and gone 'look, what's important here is winning'.

"That is a massive reason why the Kings are so good this year."
