The heavy rains have delayed plans to permanently remove access to the link from Woollybutt Drive and Durgadin Drive, and open a new section of the East West Link.
At this stage there are no dates on when these changes will take place but Transport for NSW will notify residents once they are rescheduled.
It was the closure of the Woollybutt Drive-East West Link intersection that saw the installation of traffic lights at the northern end where the drive intersects with the Princes Highway.
The lights were welcomed by locals but motorists driving through the area have expressed concerns about delays.
