The Illawarra Annual Brick Show will showcase more than a hundred tables of custom-built LEGO displays, spanning from architecture to pop culture and a Star Wars theme.
All funds raised will be donated to the KidzWish Foundation charity.
The event will be presented by the Wollongong LEGO Users Group (GongLUG).
Graham Draper, founder of GongLUG said there was plenty of nostalgia associated with LEGO for many adults.
"It's a really big world out there, the LEGO community," he said.
"I've travelled overseas many times now with LEGO.
"There's a lot of nostalgia and camaraderie, it really is a great community. When we can do something that we love doing, and bring it together with children's charities and raise money, it makes it all worthwhile."
Mr Draper said this was the third year they'd hosted the event, but this time it was at a bigger venue.
In the first year they raised $21,000, and the second year $22,000.
"This year I've set a goal of $40,000," he said.
"We'll have a lot more activities and displays... I think we can get a bigger crowd because of that."
There will be LEGO play tables; jumping castle; interactive kids' activities such as a live mosaic build and R/C racing cars; and a monster lucky door prize.
Opening hours are Saturday (10am to 5pm) and Sunday (9am to 4pm) at Illawarra Sports Stadium, Hooka Creek Road, Berkeley.
Tickets via TryBooking, or at the door.
