Police will allege Oliver was riding the motorcycle along Wyndarra Way just before 9.30pm when he spotted police.
Oliver allegedly crashed the bike and fled on foot in an attempt to avoid police.
Officers gave chase, discovering the shortened, single barrell shotgun on his person as they tried to apprehend him.
They also found cash, methamphetamine and seven rounds of ammunition.
He was charged with firearm, drug and driving offences and refused police bail.
Oliver did not apply for bail in Wollongong Local Court on Friday morning and it was formally refused.
He also had his parole revoked and will serve the remaining seven months of his substantive sentence behind bars.
