This Saturday, the 10-year-old Shell Cove boy will pay homage to his beloved poppy when he takes part in the World's Greatest Shave.
Along with his good mate Taj Spicer, he'll have his head shaved at Dapto pool at 9am before his weekly training session.
"I miss him very much and want to do something to remember him and make him proud," Jack said.
Jack's dad, Matt, said his son has already raised more than $3350 for the Leukaemia Foundation fundraiser.
"Jack's feeling happy that the shave is this weekend as he has raised money and awareness for a good cause and is helping others," Mr Gibson said.
"I feel extremely proud of what he is doing as it's a big effort and something he decided to do himself. I think it will be a very emotional day on Saturday when it actually happens.
"I think it's a fantastic way to honour his poppy as well."
The young lad will be among more than 20,000 people shaving, or colouring, their hair as part of the World's Greatest Shave. The dates for 2020 are from March 11 to 15.
The money supports Australian families facing blood cancer and accelerates research to enable the Leukaemia Foundation to reach its goal of 'zero lives lost to blood cancer by 2035'.
Right now, 41 Australians are told every day that they have blood cancer (that's one person every 36 minutes) and 20 people will lose their life to blood cancer daily.
