The Regals Musical Society is presenting a production of Broadway hit Be More Chill.
The musical explores themes of the struggles of adolescence, and the lure of social media, technology and other fixes.
Among its cast is Sam Hamilton, 20, from Wollongong and Byron Leitch, 19, of Towradgi, both of whom are studying at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts.
Hamilton recently moved from Wollongong to Banksia, Sydney, to immerse himself in his studies.
"I have followed the making of Be More Chill since the workshops and readings of the show, and thought it was a really neat idea for a musical," Hamilton said.
"I instantly became obsessed with the work of Joe Iconis and totally nerd out with his music.
"Cut to a few years later and I'm actually in the show now. I'm really excited to be doing this bucket list show with an incredible team."
Leitch was excited to appear in the production, which he said "communicates issues that are prominent in today's society".
"Be More Chill is my first show with The Regals Musical Society, and has been one of my dream shows to be a part of," he said.
Be More Chill is on at the St George Auditorium, Kogarah, from March 11 to 14.
