Scout warden Leanne Senn and her team of volunteers pull out all the stops to make the annual Enchanted Dinner fundraiser - which has so far raised $30,000 for a water purification system at the camp - an authentic event for diehard Harry Potter fans.
Now in its third year, the evening kicks off with guests running through a makeshift Platform 9 3/4 with a trolley, before passing Aragog, a centaur and unicorn in the Forbidden Forest on their way up to the Great Hall.
"What I love the most is seeing people's faces when they arrive and knowing we've helped create a magical experience, something that takes them to another world, if only for a couple of hours," Ms Senn said.
"I'm always in awe once we turn all the candles on ... every year I add more candles - I'm a glutton for punishment."
True to the books, hundreds of candles float above long dining tables in the hall, with Professor Dumbledore presiding over the feast and Lord Voldemort making his creepy presence felt.
Professional scare actor Cliff Dorian, the man behind the pale, flat-nosed mask, loves bringing the fun and PG horror to the night.
"I'm a people person, I like seeing everybody have fun," Mr Dorian said.
"I'm wearing a more accurate costume this year - the cape becomes more faded as the movies go on and it's greener.
"I also have new hands and a few magical tricks to stir up the kids."
The night includes a roast dinner and Yorkshire pudding, music and entertainment.
Tickets for the family friendly event are $25 to $50 from www.trybooking.com, with costumes encouraged.
