The 100 per cent volunteer-run organisation have been operating on the NSW South Coast for over 30 years and now are proud owners of two 35,000-litre water tanks.
EnergyAustralia's Tallawarra power station chemistry specialist Evan Corbett, came up with an innovative idea to support the group in their post-fire recovery efforts.
He worked with Wildlife Rescue South Coast and made possible the donation of two water tanks.
"Historically, we endure a wild bush fire every 8 to 10 years. It is very difficult to evacuate and leave as this can induce life threatening stress to the animals," Wildlife Rescue South Coast spokesman John said.
"We have always stayed and despite being on town water, we have found that we cannot rely on having water when we need it the most, as was the case in the December bushfires.
"With thanks to EnergyAustralia and BLN Transport, these tanks will help secure a future for the wildlife in both dry climatic conditions and any future threats from bushfires."
Tallawarra power station asset leader Jason Lee said "our hearts went out to everyone across Australia whose lives and homes had been impacted by these devastating fires"
"EnergyAustralia is proud to be a part of the communities where we operate and all of us at Tallawarra were thrilled we could help such a great organisation like the Wildlife Rescue," he said.
BLN Transport's Lee Luck added the company was happy to donate cranes to load and unload the tanks, trucks and drivers for the late-night double escort, and wide load delivery from Tallawarra power station to the Wildlife Sanctuary.
"We thought this was a great idea and jumped at the opportunity when asked for help. We're really happy to do something for the community and after the recent bushfires, we were pleased we could help out in some small way," Mr Luck said.
The Wildlife Rescue South Coast Sanctuary is in the NSW town of Hilltop.
