Angel Of Truth stumbled into last year's Melbourne campaign after winning the Australian Derby and missed the Cup and is now stretching out to the 2400m trip fourth-up.
Markwell has three runners on Saturday, which also includes roughies Highmaster in the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes (2000m) and Gemmahra in the Group 3 Neville Sellwood (2000m).
It comes as trainers have ramped up biosecurity measures in stables to ensure racing stays afloat for as long as possible during the coronavirus pandemic.
Awaiting results of a Covid-19 test on Victorian-based jockey Mark Zahra, two Sydney jockeys who shared a charter flight with Zahra, Hugh Bowman and Tommy Berry, have both been tested and returned negative results to the virus.
If Zahra's test is also negative, racing is expected to resume in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia from Friday.
The Snowden camp have implemented an array of biosecurity measures including checking the temperatures of staff, extra hand washing and disinfecting every area, including feed rooms and gates.
"Doing all this is for nothing if they don't watch where they're going after work so they're just going straight home, no socialising, no gatherings," trainer Peter Snowden told AAP.
"The longer you do things right, the longer you stay in a job."
Price's Tickets to Sapphire success
Free-striding filly Show Tickets will be determined to fend off the challengers when chasing a second consecutive win, at Sapphire Coast on Friday.
The former Kris Lees three-year-old held on in the final bounds to hold out Gloablize at Moruya last start, having charged clear at Kembla Grange only to be overwhelmed the Kerry Parker-trained Sorridere, who went on to run in the Group 3 Classic at the Illawarra Turf Club beforehand.
Having broken her maiden, she opened a $3.40 favourite for the Class 1 Handicap (1408m), but faces stiff competition from Canberra trainer Nick Olive's Exotic Deel ($5.50).
"Exotic Deel won first-up over 1000 metres and then they were a bit quick for her last start at Canberra," he told Racing NSW.
"I'm looking forward to seeing how she goes over 1400 metres because I think the extra distance will suit.
"Glenleigh Lad will run in the same race. He should improve on his last run when he struck a soft track."
