The competition was due to kick off in late May, and take place at various Illawarra venues.
Committee president Tony Purdon said the health and safety of entrants, audiences, venue support personnel and other staff was their highest priority at all times.
"We monitor the changing situation constantly and also take our direction from relevant government authorities, venues and other performance industry professionals," Mr Purdon told the Mercury.
