Centro CBD is now delivering the donated lunches and dinners to Wollongong Hospital to distribute to well-deserving staff and departments.
Wollongong Hospital General Manager Nicole Sheppard said staff couldn't thank the team at Centro CBD enough for coming up with the gesture.
"And of course it's a big thank you to the local businesses and families who have made it possible by 'adopting' a healthcare worker," she said.
"We know lots of people are struggling, so the fact that people are doing this for us is really very special.
"The Illawarra community is a close-knit one, so even just knowing people are thinking of us at this time buoys the team and helps keep our spirits up."
Individuals or businesses can select a staff member, or department, and email their order to reservations@centrocbd.com.au
