Supported by Wollongong City Council and produced by Relativity the series looks to provide assistance to businesses navigating changes brought on by the coronavirus crisis.
Illawarra Business Chamber executive director Adam Zarth said the initiative provides useful information on the chamber's website to help enterprises survive.
"In the current business environment, the complete focus of our business community is on adaptation, sector by sector, due to the economic hibernation made necessary to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic," Mr Zarth said.
"The series of short videos will help small businesses to rapidly shift their business models to survive the lockdown and emerge the other side".
Mr Zarth said each episode features simple advice from members who are experts in their fields.
"In our first episode, Ory Purhonen, founder of Webics, a Nowra-based web design and marketing agency, guides businesspeople through establishing an e-commerce presence for the first time".
Mr Purhonen looks at how to survive and thrive, change the delivery of a product or service, launch the business online and marketing communications.
Future episodes will explore how to develop a business through its social media profile, the rights and obligations of a commercial tenant and managing cashflow through the lockdown.
The Illawarra Mercury has launched a Taking Care of Business campaign.
Each day we will highlight a local business who is adapting or evolving to be able to keep operating under these trying times.
If you know of a business adapting, please send us an email titled Taking Care of Business to cos@illawarramercury.com.au.
We have also put a call out and will run a list of cafes, restaurants and clubs who are offering takeaway or delivery on our Facebook page. If you know of an outlet now offering home delivery or takeaway, please let us know and add it to the list.
