The community is being allowed back on the course following a trial with members last week and advice from NSW Office of Sport and Golf Australia.
The Links Shell Cove management said they have worked closely with Shellharbour City Council's risk management team to ensure the safest environment possible for the public, members, visitors and staff before reopening the course to the public.
"Shellharbour City Council and The Links Shell Cove has been taking advice from the NSW Government's Office of Sport, Golf Australia and Golf NSW along with other Australian golf clubs operating under COVID-19 restrictions," the club said.
The advice was that restricted use of golfing facilities was possible, with social separation and other controls, consistent with those set by the State and Federal Government.
Social distancing is mandatory during each round of golf in line with government social distancing laws of 1.5 metres to ensure a safe environment. Only two golfers can play at the same hole and cannot use golf carts. Bookings need to be made in advance and hand sanitisation is provided with signage at major entry and exit points. The Links Shell Cove can only accept cashless payments at this time and rakes have been removed.
