Flagstaff chief executive Roy Rogers said when he saw an Illawarra Mercury story about schools needing to buy their own sanitiser he put a call out saying they can get it in bulk at a discounted price locally.
In response to COVID-19 the Manildra Group decided to produce sanitiser for distribution to vital not-for-profit organisations, the aged care sector, government agencies such as emergency services, schools and essential services such as medical practices, pharmacies, veterinary practices and dentists.
As part of the community focussed initiative Manildra engaged Flagstaff to distribute the hand sanitiser to essential services.
The only condition is that the sanitiser is for staff and client use and not for resale or personal use.
Mr Rogers said three Flagstaff staff in Nowra and two at Unanderra have been bottling the sanitiser. And with students heading back to school in May it was great timing for schools.
He said it started more than a month ago when Flagstaff in Nowra started bottling hand sanitiser for the Manilda Group.
"They then approached us to ask if we could distribute it around the Illawarra," he said.
"We have been distributing it to Ambos, Fire & Rescue, doctors and all the aged care providers.
"It is really well priced. They can bring their own bulk containers and pick it up or we have bulk containers as well. We also have one litre bottles and 750mm bottles they can order and pick up.
"We are getting it from Manilda in 1000 litre containers. When I read the story in the Illawarra Mercury I said we need to get the message out to schools because we have plenty of hand sanitiser and it is cheap.
"Manildra has been very community focused on this. It is ethanol based and hospital grade. It is high quality sanitiser. The firies and the ambos think it is great. It is really important we get it to schools and those who need it".
To ensure the process is contact free payment is made by card only.
Organisations need to bring a dry, clean, sealable container to transport the sanitiser.
Pick up is at Flagstaff Print and Mail, 260 Nolan Street, Unanderra where parking is available on site.
Containers can be filled weekdays from 8am to 4pm by appointment only.
