However, due to COVID-19 they've been forced to adapt the delivery of this year's program.
"Though we would love to hold our workshops in person, instead of cancelling or putting them on hold indefinitely, we adapted to these difficult times and are now working online to still be able to reach the community," South Coast Writers Centre project officer Adara Enthaler said.
"So, we are bringing our workshops to you."
The Writers Centre has announced its Online Writing Workshop Program, with an aim of keeping the community developing their writing skills safely from home while in lockdown, and providing work for authors put out of work by mass event cancellations due to the pandemic.
This will include dozens of intensive online workshops (via Zoom and email) that aim to help writers develop their skills, no matter their current experience.
Organisers have assembled a line-up of award-winning authors, poets and publishers across dozens of workshops and critique groups, including Heather Rose, Chloe Higgins and Ron Pretty.
These workshops are open to anyone across Australia of any writing skill or experience who wishes to develop their skills and knowledge.
"We have been lucky to be able to hire experienced writers and artists for these workshops many of whom have lost income due to the cancellation of so many community events and workshop," Ms Enthaler said.
The first workshop begins on Saturday, May 23, with the last in mid-August.
Prices start at $20 per session depending on the workshop, with discounts for SCWC members.
The program will range in duration from 45-minute weekly sessions to one-off three-hour intensives.
There is a limited number of participants they can take for each workshop.
