Time will tell but the IVF Australia Wollongong clinical director expects a surge in babies come next December/January.
"We tend to get a surge of babies in spring, roughly nine months after Christmas, when people are less busy and have more time to spend with loved ones," Dr Greening said.
"Obviously during this COVID-19 pandemic people are finding themselves at home together much more so there is the potential we may see a surge in babies.
"A few of us [obstetricians] professional opinion is there will be more babies born later this year.
"But, if it is the opposite then obviously the forces of COVID-19 and concerns over economics and other things might have contributed to that.
"We will wait and see but I'm reasonably optimistic there will be more babies born."
The doctor was also pleased the COVID-19 situation was improving and the temporary suspension of elective surgeries had been lifted late last month.
"We are pleased to be back on board," he said.
"IVF Australia and here in Wollongong have got some good news coming up about expanding what we can do. We will talk about that at a later date.
It will be fun to watch a nice big boom in babies in about nine months from whenever the COVID-19 situation started.

"At the moment we are just trying to catch up and help as many people as we can get pregnant.
"I had a busy Tuesday just past. I delivered five babies during the day.
"It will be fun to watch a nice big boom in babies in about nine months from whenever the COVID-19 situation started.
"Our professional opinion is no one told them not to get pregnant. We didn't think pregnant women had any increased risk of COVID-19, so people may have decided that getting pregnant wasn't such a bad idea, so let's see if it happens.
"Certainly we will start contributing to fertility in the IVF world to helping people get pregnant."
