The devastated father of a five-year-old boy who was fatally hit by a truck at Picton on Friday night has spoken out about the tragedy, describing his son as "amazing".

Doug Sproule, 38, was parking his 100-tonne vehicle in a trucking transport yard in Picton when he accidentally ran over his son, Harrison, who had moved between his father's truck and another vehicle.
The boy was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and rushed to Liverpool Hospital but later died.
He was very outdoors, loved his horse, loved his brothers and sister.
Mr Sproule told Nine News his son was a "very happy, little, mischievous" boy.
"He was very outdoors, loved his horse, loved his brothers and sister," he said.
"He's always loved camping".
Mr Sproule spoke out in the hope that his story will prevent similar accidents happening to anyone else.

He said he had no idea his son was behind his truck.
"He used to come with me a lot in the truck," he said.
"He's been to Darwin, Perth, north WA, all the usual interestate places, he was extremely well travelled."
"He loved it. He's spent years in the truck. He was amazing".
Meanwhile, about half a dozen floral tributes had been left at the entrance to the trucking yard on Sunday morning, while hundreds of people have expressed their condolences to the Sproule family on social media.
Amanda Robbo posted on the Mercury's Facebook page "absolutely heartbreaking. I can't imagine the grief of his loved ones, everyone at the scene and our selfless first responders."
"This is so devastating thoughts are with his family," wrote Terryanne Ingram.
Moni Sinclair wrote "Ohhh may god rest his soul... so bloody heartbreaking for the family. Sending my sincerest condolences to his family. RIP sweet child."
