
People spending more time at home than ever before during COVID-19 is seeing many try their hand at home brewing for the first time.
Dan Murphy's is reporting a 30 per cent growth in home brew DIY kit sales in the last three months as many beer lovers feel inspired to make a beer at home.

Lance Friedman said home brewing was particularly popular in the Illawarra and on the South Coast.
And he wouldn't be surprised the recent interest results in a new wave of craft brewers in 12 months.
Mr Friedman said many Australian craft breweries are founded by home brewers. And in the case of Coopers recent DIY Master of Brewniverse winner Chris Woods the interest led to his Fruit of the Woods IPA being stocked at Dan Murphy's.
For anyone thinking about following Mr Woods' lead the main things to remember in making a home brew is to follow the instructions, keep everything clean, keep the brew cool and be patient but don't save for years before drinking.
