Right turns in and out of Carters Lane at the Towradgi Road intersection - a rat run for those looking to avoid Pioneer Road - will be scrapped.
The move will also likely create headaches for residents of that street turning off Memorial Drive.

A Wollongong City Council spokeswoman said the banning of right-turns was in the interests of pedestrian safety and that it would improve traffic at the intersection.
"A review of traffic flows on Towradgi Road show that right turns into and out of Carters Lane are a small proportion of the traffic numbers, but are disruptive to the east bound traffic flows on Towradgi Road," she said.
"If those vehicles remain on Towradgi Road and turn right at Pioneer Road, traffic flows will be improved and the risk of crashes reduced."
The spokeswoman also said the intersection of Towradgi and Pioneer Roads will be able to handle the additional traffic flow.
"Council will monitor the performance of this intersection and will work with Transport for NSW to modify the signals at the intersection to mitigate any potential impacts if found necessary," she said.
