Kembla Grange trainer Theresa Bateup's gelding Jarrett, ridden by Jess Taylor, saluted in the Merimbula Jazz Cup (over 1608 metres) at the Sapphire Coast Turf Club.
The five-year-old took the lead from Danielle Seib's Assault'N'Bathory with 300m left before powering away to win by a two-and-a-half lengths. Another Bateup runner, Old Man's Angel, finished in fifth place.
It was Jarrett's sixth win in seven starts at the Kalaru track, and his seventh overall career victory.
"He was super. Anthony Manton, the race caller here, calls him the 'King of the Coast'," Bateup told the Mercury.
"Jess's ridden in most of his race starts and knows him inside out. Assault'N'Bathory set up a good speed and we just sat off him. It was probably the most dominant win he's had at the mile.
"He's been a good horse but he just absolutely thrives down here: he loves the place. I don't know [why], he's win at Kembla, he's run in nice races in town and performed well at other places, but he just loves it here so I keep bringing him back."
Bateup completed a delightful double on Sunday with Titaness, ridden by Madison Waters, saluting in the Benchmark 58 Handicap (over 1408m). Titaness took the lead just before the 100m mark to win by a length from Mike Petrovic's Quiano Queen.
It was the six-year-old mare's fourth career win.
"That was Maddy's fifth win. So I've given her her first and fifth winner," Bateup said.
