Last year, the men noticed a problem when they lost water pressure at their Thirroul car park shed site, which they rent from the Railway Accident Response Unit.
It was determined there was leak in a supply pipe between the shed and metre, which is located in bushland.
The community group, that provides a place for men to gather, socialise, and create wood and metal pieces, were then slugged with a $7519 bill. Usually they pay about $40 to $60 per bill.
There was no way the group could pay the bill so the members enlisted the help of Keira MP Ryan Park, who got the bill halved.
But after more advocacy, Sydney Water agreed to waive the bill.
Shed secretary Sandy Christie said the group were "very pleased" with the outcome.
"We are as happy as Larry, and thank Mr Park for his efforts," he said.
"This is a good and fair result."
Mr Park said he was "really pleased that common sense has prevailed and the fantastic group of fella's at the Thirroul Men's Shed can keep on supporting and contributing to our community now that this debacle is resolved".
"I made it clear that I was going to fight to ensure this terrific local group wasn't slugged with this unreasonable charge, which would have forced them to close it doors," he said.
