Families started arriving as the centre opened at 9am for the first time in more than two months.
Owner Maurice Scaglia said the decision was made last week prior to a weekend announcement that social distancing restrictions will ease further from July 1.
Illawarra Inflatable Play Centre on Shellharbour Road, Warrawong is back to its normal 9am to 3pm schedule seven days a week. And is abiding by the 4sqm rule.
Being such a large activity centre there is plenty of room and pre-bookings are not required.
"We had an immediate response with people coming in as soon as the doors opened this morning," Mr Scaglia said.
"We have also had quite a few phone calls from people calling to ask if we are open.
"We are doing parties again. There are a few changes with COVID-19 restrictions. The tables have all been separated and we know our limits. We have new signage and sanitising stations".
JobKeeper meant Illawarra Inflatable Play Centre did not need to let anyone go. And as business picks up again so will the number of casual shifts.
"We are keeping an eye on everyone who comes in and we are taking names and numbers just in case," Mr Scaglia said.
"We have people here today just to clean. That is their sole purpose".
Science Space Wollongong and The Early Start Discovery Space at the University of Wollongong are looking further into NSW Government regulations before making any final decision about opening dates.
"We are still checking the details," Science Space director Stuart Creal said.
Early Start Discovery Space comes under several regulations and must meet everything from museum to public entertainment requirements.
