With Jack de Belin preparing to return to court on Monday, a number of St George Illawarra players have started to entertain the possibility the forward is back playing shortly
Euan Aitken, Ben Hunt and Tyson Frizell expressed their eagerness for the NSW representative to line up for the Dragons, however that may not arise anytime soon.
A decision on the status of the aggravated sexual assault charges is not expected to be made on Monday, with the proceedings instead set to restart the pre-trial hearings that began in February.
Stood down under the no-fault stand down policy, de Belin has trained with the team for the past 18 months.
Given his efforts at training, Hunt is confident de Belin will make a seamless return if cleared to play.
"He's definitely ready to play," Hunt said.
"He won't miss a beat if he comes in. He'll be such a massive boost for us, not only with the ball, but defensively he's a great player. In defence he can really change a game, he'd be a huge boost for us."
