The decision to take a second Wollongong Black Lives Matter protest to the Supreme Court, to borrow the words of Peter Garrett in song, "it reeks of politics".
A similar protest was held in Wollongong two weeks ago without incident and the people there protested, which is their right, respectfully and peacefully.
Thousands attended similar events around the country at that time and there was no major health outbreak as a result of those rallies.
Heck, the NSW and Victorian governments seem hell bent on getting people back to the footy in the very near future but now want to ban these protests on health grounds?
Give us a spell.
For weeks now many of us have been able to attend our shopping centres and malls all under the guise of "generating business".
At the weekend many of us enjoyed meals with our families and a good number of hundreds of our community at our local clubs.
And protesters have vowed this ruling won't dampen their will to protest, but it sure as hell will undoubtedly steel their resolve.
At the protest a couple of weeks ago a small contingent of police stood at the back of the protest watching on and without interfering.
Now, on the back of this ruling, the police will be undoubtedly be forced to administer the will of the courts.
It is inflammatory at best.

The Black Lives Matter cause has resonated loudly around the world and people who care passionately about it are keen to make sure the fight for equality and justice is not lost.
That is all that is happening here.
It just does not seem right that one week our government says that a protest which is raising the issue of inequality based on the colour of your skin can't go ahead, yet in the very near future thousands of us can don our team's colours and gather at the local football stadium.
