This is despite or maybe because Coles and Woolworths reintroduced purchase limits on toilet paper in an effort to prevent a second wave of panic buying.
Woolworths on Friday reinstated a two pack limit on toilet paper and paper towel in all Australian stores following a recent surge in demand across different parts of the country.
By late Friday many toilet paper aisles in Illawarra supermarkets were bare.
Illawarra residents took to social media to express their "disgust" at those people panic buying.
Karen Williams, who works for a supermarket in the Illawarra's northern suburbs, expressed her concerns on the Woonona/Bulli Community Facebook page.
"I would just like to say that the panic buying of a couple of months ago was the most stressful time for me and my workmates," Karen wrote.

"Please just buy what you need and there will be enough for everyone.
"Don't stock up just because you see someone else doing it.
"We didn't close then and we won't be closing.
"Please just be thoughtful of everyone else and the staff who will always try to help."
