Nathan Troy Hill, 40, is accused of striking seven businesses between April 16-22, including Sea Breeze Hair and Beauty, Zia's Cafe, Hanoi on Manning, Stone Wall Cafe, Tussta Hair and Amaki Cafe and The Hungry Monkey, where food, alcohol and a locked tin containing $1000 were among the missing items.

Between May 9 and 14 Hill allegedly went on to flog a set of golf clubs from a house on Minnamurra Street, attempt a break-in at Nirand Thai and successfully raid the cash register at Bombo Clothing Co.

Finally, between June 4-8, he allegedly raided the Terralong Street business My Room, collected $180 from JD Hair Care Salon and had a mammoth haul from Endota Spa, making off with three Samsung tablet computers, a baby monitor camera, bottles of moisturiser and serum, $150 cash from the register and a metal safe containing $1000.

The incidents were reported to police and officers from Lake Illawarra Police District's anti-theft unit began investigating.

Following a public appeal for information, police attended a home on Trevor Avenue at Lake Heights on Thursday and attempted to speak to Hill.

He allegedly fled, jumping neighbouring balconies to avoid arrest.

Police executed a search warrant and located multiple items alleged to be the proceeds of several of the break-ins.

Hill was arrested at the same Lake Heights property on Monday and has been charged with 12 counts of break and enter, steal from dwelling and dispose of stolen property.

Hill did not apply for bail at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday.

The matter will return to court August 26.
