The $100,000 course is part of a radical overhaul of McDonald Park at Albion Park Rail, which is expected to be completed by year's end.
The new course will likely mimic the one that opened in May at Reddall Reserve, where would-be ninjas begin by activating a timer, then try their luck on rows of slanted foot boards. There are over-and-under hurdles, a rope ladder and monkey bars.
Before they can stop the clock, course-goers must steady themselves on a balance beam, propel up a near-vertical ramp and shimmy down a fireman's pole.
City mayor Marianne Saliba said the city was home to a surprising number of ninjas.
"The Reddall Reserve course has been getting very, very well-used," she said. "It's unbelievable the number of people that are using it - big kids as well as little kids."
The course, and several area outdoor gyms, are part of a push by council to get people of all ages out and active.
Cr Saliba said the courses leant themselves to competitive events - even visits from television ninja warriors - in future.
Another major element of the McDonald Park Master Plan - an all-inclusive playground with a mammoth tube slide - is already complete.
It will open to the public on Friday.
