A Wollongong chef is accused of kicking and punching his partner in a prolonged violent attack sparked over her supposed infidelity.

Scott Michael Harris, aged 29, was refused bail in Wollongong Local Court on Friday following his arrest for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
In documents tendered to court, police allege Harris, who works as a chef for Novotel Wollongong, and his partner got into an argument on Wednesday about whether he was the father of her unborn child.
She had recently found out she was pregnant.
Police allege Harris drank six beers throughout the day with the assault starting about 12pm when he kicked his partner in the back causing her to fall to the ground.
Harris then allegedly kicked her again while on the floor.
An hour later, Harris entered a bedroom and allegedly hit his girlfriend in the back of the head before he called her a "whore and prostitute".
The girlfriend told police that Harris accused of her of sleeping with someone else, which she denied.
At about 5pm, the couple were in the lounge room when another argument started before Harris allegedly hit his partner in the head causing her immediate pain and dizziness.
"I am going to cave your head in," Harris allegedly said.
"I am going to shove a bottle up you and stomp on you until you are completely mutilated.
"If I go to jail I will get people to come after you so will be too scared to leave the house."
The following day, the girlfriend went to Wollongong Police Station to report the alleged assault, and told police she had wanted to report her boyfriend previously for breaching his apprehended violence order, however claimed whenever Harris would drink or take drugs he would hide her phone and threaten her.
She told police she had a "crippling fear" of Harris.
Officers arrested Harris on Thursday and charged him with four counts of common assault, one count of intimidating his partner, contravening an apprehended violence order and damaging property.
A week earlier, Harris is accused of losing his temper during an argument about his girlfriend not paying him enough attention.
Police will allege Harris smashed his partner's hair dryer and punched a hole in a wall.
Defence lawyer Adam Booker said Harris, who was on parole for causing actual bodily harm at the time of the alleged incident, denied the allegations and claimed he was not at home at the time of the alleged assault.
Mr Booker said Harris had a friend who could verify his whereabouts.
In court on Friday, Magistrate Susan McGowan said she believed a custodial sentence was likely given Harris' criminal history if he was convicted of the allegations.
She refused to grant Harris bail and the case was adjourned to July 9 at Wollongong Local Court.
