And the Wollongong and District Avicultural Society president had every reason to chirp up after starring in the club's 71st annual show at Bulli PCYC.
The man they call Whiskey won the Champion Yorkshire Canary competition as well as the Reserve Champion Yorkshire Canary.
The 2020 Young Border Canary Show was also held in Wollongong for the first time.
As luck would have it, Walker won the Champion Border Fancy Canary competition as well.
"And I won it with a white canary, which is really hard to do," he said.
"It was a great day for the president. Forget about winning grand finals, this took the cake."
Personal success wasn't the only reason Walker was grinning from ear to ear.
"There was no public on hand due to COVID-19 restrictions but it was still a great show. We had 800 colourful birds including canaries, finches and parrots on show. This was just 100 down on last year," he said.
The Wollongong and District Avicultural Society show was the only one of its kind held so far in NSW.
"We are the best show in NSW without a doubt," Walker said.
"I also believe our members' success to date has the club well-placed to retain the Challenge Cup ahead of Newcastle and Sydney."
