The training match comes after Luke Wilkshire's squad returned to play with an internal friendly on Saturday morning.

With competition for spots in the starting XI fierce, the coach said all players were focused on Saturday and he expects the same on Tuesday night.

"It was their first hit-out in a long time, so it was good to get some minutes into the boys legs," Wilkshire said. "Everyone played at least 60 minutes, a few the full 90.

"The squads are pretty even no matter how we split them. There's a lot of depth and quality within the whole squad so it was competitive.

"We'll have another competitive game again on Tuesday against Wollongong United, then some more friendlies, so there's plenty of time for players to make that spot their own."

The friendlies will continue for the Wolves on Saturday with a clash with NPL2 side Blacktown Spartans before a date with Bulli next Wednesday night.

Plans are underway for another warm-up match on July 18 or 19 before an internal match the following week.

With their last game coming in March, Wilkshire said the friendlies are crucial for preparing his side for round one of the NPL season on the first weekend of August.

"We've been training the last six weeks, so we've been wanting that matchday practice. You can train all you want and the boys are fit, but games are important."
