The social enterprise is looking for employees to fill vacancies everywhere from its Fine Foods division to administration. It is also looking for more disability support workers.
Flagstaff Group People and Culture manager Brooke Anthony said there were more jobs than usual available at the moment and it was a struggle to find enough candidates.
"We have 10 positions currently vacant across the Flagstaff Group. We always have supported employment roles available. We also have admin roles."
Ms Anthony the Flagstaff Group was growing quickly and that was creating more employment. But during the COVID-19 pandemic the social enterprise has found it more difficult than usual to attract candidates.
Ms Anthony said at a time when other industries have been decimated by COVID-19 she would have thought people who were unable to work in those sectors would apply for jobs in the fast growing disability and aged care sector. She said people don't seem to realise many of their skills are transferable to enterprises such as Flagstaff. She said the great thing about the Flagstaff Group was there are so many different divisions and that creates so many employment opportunities.
"During COVID-19 we have also diversified some of our business. We are even bottling sanitiser. We have stayed open during the coronavirus crisis. We have not only maintained our business but also looked at different business avenues and streams."
The Flagstaff Group presently has 10 roles listed on a job link on its website and is about to add more. "We are looking at doing a recruitment campaign in other areas of our business such as our Life Choices program."
Mrs Anthony said the People and Culture team is keen to take any phone calls to answer people's questions."We are happy to talk to them about whether their skills will match the disability sector. And we are happy to take people on a walk through so they can see what it is like to work here."
