After the Premier League season was postponed due to COVID-19, the Blaze will finally start their campaign when they face the ERNA Hawks on Wednesday night.
Clare McCrohon, the team's inaugural captain, said it was an exciting way to get their journey under way.
"We've analysed the Hawks a bit and they're a strong shooting team," the 21-year-old told the Mercury.
"Every team is just as good as the other [in the league]. It's impossible to pick who might win, but it makes for a really exciting competition.
"We have every chance of making that finals series in both the opens and 23s. The 23s have a bit of a mix of experienced Premier League players as well as young guns coming through. It will be really exciting to see how those girls experience their first year of Premier League. I have no doubts that we'll be real challengers this year."
McCrohon was announced in the Blaze's under 23s leadership group alongside vice-captains Emily Dunn and Jess Bowden.
"I'm super honoured and privileged," she said.
"I've always said that I'm less vocal and prefer to lead by action - it will be about finding that balance and working with both Emily and Jess. While we're the captains, it's important that everyone has a voice.
"It's really exciting to see what the club is doing for netball down the South Coast, with a real focus around family and community and that team spirit. It's going to be an exciting season."
