The election by members of the club is taking place over the next four days and Mr Hough is taking the opportunity to use his nomination to push for improvements to the club and new developments in Corrimal.
He would like to see a major redevelopment of the club as part of a major development in the immediate area.
And wants to work with partners such as the Corrimal Chamber of Commerce and the Corrimal Revitalisation Action Group to make the suburb the major events centre for the Northern Illawarra.
"If we could invest in the proper bollards and security we could declare Corrimal as an approved festival zone," he said,.
Mr Hough said if that had that been the case when Bulli Folk Festival was cancelled because of some last minute DA problems it could have been held in Corrimal.
