The public are being asked to remain vigilant, as police investigations continue following a spate of malicious damage targeting parked cars in the Illawarra.

Between Thursday, July 16 and Friday, July 17, more than 30 cars parked in the residential areas of Lake Illawarra, Mount Warrigal, Oak Flats, Barrack Heights and Barrack Points had windows and mirrors smashed.
Similar incidents were reported in the Shell Cove and Kiama areas on Friday, with more than 20 cars damaged.
Detective Sergeant Danielle Rebbeck from Lake Illawarra Police District said police will not tolerate this kind of senseless behaviour.
"What we have seen is a person or group of people targeting cars randomly, with no care for the owners or property they are damaging," Detective Sergeant Rebbeck told the Mercury.
"We are appealing for anyone with information to speak to police so we can take legal action against those responsible."
Inquiries are continuing.
Anyone who may be victim to a similar crime, or who may have Dash Cam or CCTV footage is urged to contact Lake Illawarra Police District.
Lake Illawarra Police District's Sergeant Peter Northey said someone within the community "has to know who's doing this".
"It's very inconsiderate and it's affecting a lot of people," he said.
"A lot of people drive around with Dash Cams these days. If anyone has driven around and seen someone acting suspicious that could be involved, we'd like to see the footage."
Sergeant Northey said police weren't going to start telling residents where they can and can't park their car, but noted these offences all happened to vehicles parked out on the street.
"If people do have room on their driveway they can park their car there, or in a garage," he said.
"If you have room off the street, you'll obviously be less likely to become a victim.
"If everyone can just be vigilant and know that this sort of thing is happening, and give us a call if they see suspicious behaviour, or if it does happen to you."
