The newly promoted Rosellas sealed a 5-1 win over Port Kembla on Saturday afternoon, however, coach Andrew Paine says there is still plenty of room for improvement.
"We weren't great, but the effort was really high and we're obviously very pleased with the result," Paine said.
"There was a good period of 20 minutes where Port really had us bunkered down in our half. But the boys figured it out, made some adjustments and we stormed home."
Paine said the Rosellas had "things to work on" at training.
"We have a shallow squad at the moment, injuries are going to play their part with how we go. But we'll get back on the training and fix up a few things defensively," he said.
"We've got two really hard games now, we go to Albion Park and Cringila. At the end of those games, we will have a better idea of where we are at."
