On Monday, the Mercury reported on plans for a turfed space at the Bulli Woolworths site - which had been the location for a planned KFC three years ago.
That development application was knocked back by Wollongong City Council but, just this year, the proponents met with council staff with a revised proposal.
Talk of KFC moving in - either as a full-on restaurant or just a drive through, had people on the Mercury Facebook page happy.
"I will be the first to welcome the colonel to our great town," Tim Wakeling wrote.
Naomi Cram couldn't contain her excitement - "OMG that is awesome!" she wrote.
Not everyone was happy though, with some concerned about rubbish or the potential for increased congestion on the Princes Highway.
"Whole Woolworths complex is a joke and should never have been approved without additional road infrastructure," wrote Paul Townson.
