Wild weather is to blame for the postponement of Hockey Dad's sell-out drive in concerts this week, which was a much anticipated return of live music to Wollongong.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, with organisers pulling the plug due to heavy rain deeming the surface Bulli Show Grounds "unusable".
Each event was to host up to 400 cars - with up to five people in each car - with the live feed of the concert transmitted through their car radios.
"After all the rain we've had [it] just isn't safe or logistically possible," Ben Tillman of Farmer & The Owl said.
"It would have turned into a big mud pit, everyone would have gotten bogged."
The Friday and Saturday night concerts were to celebrate the release of Hockey Dad's new album Brain Candy, as well as officially celebrate their new band member Steve Bourke.
The Alive At The Drive In events have been rescheduled for October 9 and 10 at the same venue.
Zach Stephenson of Hockey Dad told the Mercury he's bummed but still excited to get their new tunes to the masses.
"[It's] kind of disappointing," the guitarist said, adding he's never been to a drive in before.
"But the album will still come out [on Friday] ... we'll just have to suck it up."
The group has already had to postpone their world tour due to restrictions forced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Australian dates rescheduled to April 2021.
But the downtime due to pandemic restrictions is cool, Stephenson told the Mercury. It meant more time to hang with his girlfriend and new puppy, and catch the epic winter waves the Illawarra coast offers when he's usually overseas.
"It's kind of made me appreciate being in a band and being able to do this for a living, and it's made me appreciate all the gigs we did get to play," he said.
"It's given me some inspiration to work a little bit harder so I can keep doing this for longer.
"Having this break and seeing a lot of people badly affected by [the pandemic], a lot of people losing their jobs, it kind of made us appreciate how good we have it ... and it kicked me up the butt."
Meanwhile, the duo has now become a trio with bassist Steve Bourke officially on board, Stephenson confirmed.
The musician has been a regular in the recording studio with Stephenson and bandmate Billy Fleming, as well as touring with them since 2019.
Hockey Dad's Brain Candy is out Friday, July 31.
