The staff, students and school community of Mount St Thomas Public School have worked in partnership to meet the challenges of 2020, with the shared goal that every student is known, valued and cared for.
Principal Ronda Moon said, "During remote learning, staff worked unbelievably hard developing the Mountso Learning Hub online; providing accessible, engaging and innovative opportunities in learning for our students, ensuring learning continuity and growth during a very disrupted year.
"We proudly boast a successful return to face to face learning, with student health and wellbeing at the centre of everything we do."
While students enjoyed opportunities to engage with parents and carers at home, 93.5 per cent of student responses upon their return affirmed excitement and enthusiasm for the resumption of face to face learning.
Of particular note, were opportunities for students to engage in explicit, guided instruction in the classroom and purposeful, collaborative engagement with peers.
Mountso staff continue to work diligently reimagining learning programs post-learning from home, incorporating aspects students most enjoyed and those that had the greatest direct impact on student learning.
"We also wasted no time celebrating our students with special 'Mountso Moments' such as our end of term Winter Wonderland themed day," Ronda said.
