The club secured $113,150, with the assistance of Kiama MP Gareth Ward, from the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund.
Mitchell Tierney from Lake Illawarra PCYC said the organisation was "thrilled" to have received the funding.
"Our club has been working towards this upgrade for some time, but without this grant from Mr Ward and the NSW government this upgrade would never have been possible."
Mr Ward said the grant was not a cost to government but rather "an investment in our community".
"Facilities like this help drive down childhood obesity and keep local kids active," Mr Ward said. "PCYCs work incredibly hard to provide a huge array of programs and opportunities."
Mr Ward also announced $54,972 in funding for Youthsafe to run programs through the PCYC to promote safer driving in our community.
"Youthsafe in a brilliant partnership with Lake Illawarra PCYC which will provide a customised range of services for participants in PCYC's Rise Up program," Mr Ward said.
"The program will give access to professional driving lessons and the Safer Drivers Course for youth in our community."
